In today’s class we experimented with a different filter when taking our pictures, black and white. For our portfolio we must create a black and white photographic makeup look. The colours aren’t necessarily important for this look but the amount of product you use is. If you want your makeup look to stand out more and be bolder you use a darker colour but apply it heavier. I personally wanted to go for a bolder look and make it stand out more. So, Melissa started off her demo and gave us an idea of what to go for. Melissa created a bold cut crease and used different shimmers, eyeshadows and textures to show us how they would come out in the photo.  I really enjoyed doing this look today as it was different and not the usual beauty makeup which I love too but sometimes it’s nice to go a bit mad with your makeup looks. Lol. I was happy with the outcome and everyone else’s was amazing too! Taking the pictures in black and white really enhanced the makeup look and made it look more professional . We don’t have class next week as the annual beauty show is on in the RDS in Dublin. A couple of us from the course have entered the competition there next Monday under the theme “Bridal Fantasy”. That includes costume, head pieces and lots and lots of makeup so that will be a lot of fun and its great experience for us as it will give us an insight into the beauty industry, so I will report back on that next week.
